Fleur Royale Beaded Ring

This is a fun and fairly easy project, using one of our new adjustable beading rings. For this project, I used a ring with only one loop at the top. You can buy this style of ring with more loops, of course, but I choose to use the single loop style for this project because I find it is easier to work with. The rings that have more loops are designed to have the beads wire wrapped directly on the ring's loops. This isn't too difficult for the first dozen beads, but once the ring starts getting full of beads, it is harder and harder to add on more beads. For this project, I wrapped each bead and closed it without attaching it to anything, and then attached the wire wrapped beads to the ring using just a few jump rings. It was much easier and speedier to complete the ring this way.

You'll need a pair of round nose pliers, wire cutters, and bent nose pliers. If you have another pair of bent nose (or chain nose) pliers about - it makes it easier to close the jump rings.

Parts Needed:

  • (24) 6mm Bicone Beads - Visit our Swarovski Mixes page
  • (24) 1.5" Head Pins (24 gauge is easiest) in Silver or Gold
  • (1) Adjustable Beading Ring in Silver or Gold
  • (3) Small Oval Jumprings in Silver or Gold

Steps:

  • First - put all 24 beads onto the 24 headpins.
  • Next - using your round nose, bent nose, and wire cutting tools, make loops on all the headpins, wrap them shut, and snip off the excess wire. Explicit instructions for this step can be found here - Wire Wrapping a Headpin Charm.

  • At this point, you should have 24 little headpin charms. Being sure to mix the colors evenly, put 8 of the charms onto one of your jump rings, and then attach the full jump ring to the loop on the beading ring. Repeat this step two more times. The last jump ring is the hardest to attach because the ring will be fairly full, but with good pliers and a little faith, you can do it in a jiffy.

Notes:

  • If you want to try this with larger beads, you'll need less of them.
  • Use the project shown above as a jumping off point! Try mixing in pearls, bali silver, glass or lucite flower beads, etc.
  • Have fun!
